�鶹app�� Fire Department Staffer Headed to Garnet Fire

A member of the �鶹app�� Fire Department will leave campus tonight (Sept. 9) for an assignment as a fireline EMT on the Garnet Fire in the Sierra National Forest in Fresno County, Fire Chief Nate Hartinger said.

That staffer works as a captain on campus but will serve as an EMT during the deployment, Hartinger said.

UPDATED: All Personnel Back From Pickett Fire

Updated 3 p.m. Sept. 9: The final �鶹app�� Fire Department staffer deployed to the Pickett Fire in Napa County, a captain serving as strike team leader trainee, returned to campus Sunday (Sept. 7).

The fire reached full containment that same day, Cal Fire said.

Regional EMT Training at Giedt Hall Sept. 15

The �鶹app�� Fire Department will host a training event for regional EMS students on Monday (Sept. 15). Activities will take place all day in and outside Giedt Hall. One or two ambulances will be stationed nearby and there may be role-players with simulated injuries outside.

What to Expect at �鶹app�� Football Games This Fall

The University of California, Davis, has received accolades for its research, the value for the dollar and the social mobility it offers graduates in three separate rankings published this month.

Forbes named �鶹app�� to its Top 25 Public Colleges in the nation in rankings released Tuesday (Aug. 26). The magazine noted that �鶹app�� students graduate with a median of $11,000 in debt — the lowest among the public standouts.

Schiff Joins �鶹app�� Researchers Monitoring Health of Lake Tahoe
