What to Expect at �鶹app�� Football Games This Fall

There is lots to look forward to on and off the field as Aggie football comes roaring back into �鶹app�� Health Stadium next week for the first of five regular season home games.

In addition to each game’s theme, fan favorites like Maggie the Aggie and Cori the kickoff tee retrieval dog will be back.

Here is an overview of what to expect, starting with the first home game on Sept. 20.

Maggie the Aggie and Cori Shine Alongside Football’s Home Opener Win

Tim Plough earned his first career win at the helm of the �鶹app�� football team at its home opener against Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday (Sept. 7) as the Aggies prevailed against the Lions, 36-22.

Also on display were twists on familiar attractions, like Cori the kickoff tee-retrieving dog being helped by a student athlete and a student making her debut in the role of Maggie the Aggie.

Maggie the Aggie Rides Into Home Games

When the Aggie football team takes the field in �鶹app�� Health Stadium this season, the first student-athlete onto the field is one wearing bright blue and gold chaps. And she’s on horseback.

Kendal Scheiner is entering her second season as Maggie the Aggie, the student in flashy western wear who fires up the crowd by riding onto the field on horseback, waving an Aggie flag and calling to mind �鶹app��’ longstanding veterinary medicine and agricultural connections.

“The adrenaline that hits in that moment is so amazing,” Scheiner said.

Saturday (Sept. 28) was a day of firsts: Not only was it the football team’s Big Sky Conference opener, but new students stormed onto the field for the annual Running of the First-Years, the renamed �鶹app�� Marching Band made its debut in the stands, and a new home game tradition began.
